My Emotions

About this resource

My Emotions is a creative wellbeing project from ootiboo that helps children aged 5–11 understand and express their emotions through poetry, storytelling and imaginative activities. Built around a poem by Emily Bayne-West and characters from Laura Helen Brown's My Emotions Activity Book, the project encourages children to explore feelings in a safe, engaging and age-appropriate way. The programme focuses on three key emotions—loneliness, gratitude and worry—using friendly animal characters to help children recognise that experiencing a wide range of emotions is both natural and healthy. With flexible lesson plans, downloadable resources and creative classroom activities, the project can be adapted for whole-class teaching, small groups or individual support. Ideal for primary schools, families and youth settings, My Emotions supports emotional literacy, resilience and positive wellbeing while encouraging meaningful conversations about feelings through creativity, discussion and reflection.
